Have you ever wanted to read a book but can't seem to find the time? I have. Recently several books have been assigned for school reading that I (as a result of laziness and busyness) have not been able to read. However, I love audiobooks and, ironically enough, can always find the time for them. :) Because of this, Mama will occasionally get audiobooks from the library to listen to in place of reading the book. For example
, right now, my family and I are listening to an audio version of Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes. It has been an interesting book so far, and I can't wait to finish it!
Over the years, I've listened to many books on CD. For some I have read the book before I heard the audio version; some I listened to the audio version before I read the book.
Radio dramas are also a favorite of mine. (especially those done by Focus on the Family) They often help me to understand classics that I otherwise have a hard time getting a grasp of. I also tend to remember more when I listen.
So if you ever find yourself wishing you had time to read a book, check out the local library to see if they have it on CD. They're also great for long car trips...or even short ones.:) God Bless!
