Christmas Projects

I have begun innumerable projects with determined enthusiasm and confidence. The trouble is, I have also left innumerable projects unfinished. The reason is generally the same

Audiobooks

Have you ever wanted to read a book but can't seem to find the time? I have. Recently several books have been assigned for school reading that I (as a result of laziness and busyness) have not been able to read. However, I love audiobooks and, ironically enough, can always find the time for them. :) Because of this, Mama will occasionally get audiobooks from the library to listen to in place of reading the book.  For example

A Field Trip (Homeschool Style)

Recently, my family and I took an all-out homeschool field trip. We participated in an Environmental Living Program held at Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park in Pine Grove, California. At this park the largest collection of mortar holes in the nation is located. The program totaled two nights in bark huts, and one full day and two half days of activities. Among the activities

The Boot Forms Have Arrived!!

They’re finally here! Last week I completed the first listing of boot forms. These fabric-covered foam cores are some of the cutest, most simple organizers for your closet. Designed to keep boots upright in the closet, boot forms prevent creases that damage the leather from forming at the ankle of your boots. Go to my Etsy shop for more details. God Bless!

Live Life for the Lord!!!!

Yay! School is here and I finally I get to take the classes I’ve been waiting to take for years! Chemistry and U.S. History are subjects that I am looking forward to in particular. My friends tell me I’m crazy, but enjoying school helps make the work load seem lighter. And that’s a good thing, since I have several work intensive classes this year.
Besides the usual core subjects, I am also working on my junior project

Little House: The Caroline Years

Here I go again. This is another series. :) I just love series; they occupy me for a longer space of time than a single book. (However, the really cliffhanger ones tend to keep me glued to my room for a few solid days of reading. My family doesn’t see much of me during that time. :)

Well, most of you have probably heard of and/or read the Little House on the Prairie books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The Caroline Years are a similar series

The Great Turkey Walk

The Great Turkey Walk

What in the world is a turkey walk!? Well, in this case, it’s the event that took place in 1860 when a fifteen-year-old boy decided to walk 1,000 turkeys from eastern Missouri to Denver, Colorado. It’s even crazier than it sounds.

Happy 4th of July Challenge!

Happy 4th of July Everyone!!

As we watch the amazing firework displays, eat ice cream, and get together with friends and family, let's take a moment to remember what we are really celebrating. We are commemorating the brave stand taken over 200 years ago by men and women just like you and me. Instead of doing the easy thing and letting the injustices they were experiencing continue to take place unhindered, people like George Washington, James Madison, Paul Revere, and many others

Books About Presidents

Sorry about the large gap between posts. We were camping at Donner Lake.

If the Walls Could Talk: Family Life at the White House

If you are looking for an educational and amusing book for a young reader I would definitely recommend this one. Each page is filled with comical cartoon pictures and short fun facts about the personal life of each president up to George W. Bush. For youngsters who aren’t reading yet, the pictures may interest them greatly.

Beginning With Books

The historical background of Washington D.C. is what interests and excites me the most. With this in mind, I will be spending the next few, okay several, posts telling you a bit about different books, movies, events, etc. that I have enjoyed for their historical content. “I spend an exorbitant amount of time reading.” is a quote from Loves Enduring Promise that certainly describes me well. There is so much available to discover in a book.

Welcome

Welcome to Case for Washington!! This blog is founded on a love for history and for sewing. A trip to Washington D.C. has been a dream I have cherished for a long time. In order to raise the funds required to take such a trip, I, along with my family, am making pillow cases
